Even though it has been a short half term, we have still had a full and busy few weeks, where children and staff have all worked hard!
I am very proud of the way the children have coped with prolonged staff absence this half term, and would like to say thank you to all of them, and to all of the staff for providing extra cover.
Children in Rowan class in particular have behaved respectfully for school and supply staff, in class and on their quarry trip yesterday, earning the whole class a Headteacher’s Award. Here they are following a well-deserved Buzz Time with Fir Class.
In Headteacher Awards we celebrated some fantastic work, our chess players recent successes and our Green Panthers.
I am hoping that we will be back up to full strength after half term, and that everyone has a restful and enjoyable half term break.

I would like to congratulate the children on how well they have coped with staff changes due to staff illness. I am sure that you all join me in wishing all of the staff who are currently absent a speedy recovery. I would also like to thank the staff team, including our regular supply teachers, for being so adaptable and supportive in the circumstances; you have all been and continue to be fantastic!
Well done to Sophie, Eva, Isaac, Leo, Hannah, Tom, Frank, Lara, Evie, Phoenix and Seba for being awarded Headteacher Awards this week!

We have been thinking about Community in our Collective Worship, particularly focussing on our school community. We have been practising our Mexican Wave, which reminds us that for our school community to be the best it can, we all need to play our part as well taking notice of everyone around us.
During Friday's Headteacher Award Assembly, on 'International Fun Day at Work', we shared our Mexican Wave with teachers and parents. Our silent Mexican wave travelled from left to right, right the left, then front to back and then back to the front. Great job everyone!
We also celebrated some fantastic work. Well done to: Eleanor, Oscar, Leo, Joshua, Chloe, phoebe, Ella, Daisy, Stan and Isobelle, who were all presented with their Headteacher Awards.
We also announced our new School Council and presented them with their badges. They will be working with Mrs Jenkins and the House Captains, and making some very important decisions for their classes. Well done to: Joel, Leo, Ava, Jaelin. Logan, Kizzi, Aisha and Amelie. I am certain that you will all do a fantatsic job!

On behalf of all the staff, thank you for all of the lovely Christmas cards and presents. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday!
We started this term with a fantatsic INSET Day - 'Real PE'. I know that all of the staff enjoyed the training and are looking forward to using their new skills with the children.
The children have returned to school, refreshed and ready to learn, and I have already seen some fantastic work. Well done to Finley, Logan, Lucja, Tia, Alfie, Sophie, Sophie, Josh, Doaa and Olive who all received Headteacher Awards this week!

It is certainly getting very busy in school, with Reception and KS1 classes rehearsing hard for their Christmas plays.
This week, I also had the pleasure of taking a group of children to meet some veterans who were also at the Remembrance Parade. We posed for some photographs with them by the war memorial. Sadly, the files are too big to load onto this blog... we will try to get them posted on here.
On Friday we celebrated the children's hard work in Headteacher Awards. Well done to:
Isabella, Betty, Ethan, Harriet, Barbara, Jamie, Tilly, Mia, Cali and Cassian!
