Some of your children may have come home and told you that I am getting a new puppy, and that I am hoping that he will be able to come into school with me some days to 'hear readers' and provide some 'pet therapy'.
Well my puppy has arrived!
Leo is a four month old Kokoni
crossed with a Jack Russell, so a little dog!
Appropriate risk assessments will be in put place and our Chair of Governors is
supportive of this idea.
Leo has settled in at home very well today, and is indeed curled up asleep under the desk I am currently working at! I am hoping, all being well, that he will come to school for a short visit this coming Wednesday afternoon.
Depending on how he reacts in school on that afternoon, I will bring him around
to the classes to meet the children. We will then go from there to arrange his school visits.
An email will be sent out to parents on Monday 11th June containing this same information, and we ask that parents alert us by return email of any known animal allergies or phobias.

Thank you to everyone who supported the non-uniform day in aid of 'We Hear You'.

It has been a very busy, but successful week!
All of our Year 1 children completed their statutory phonics check with their teachers, our new reception children joined us on Wednesday for their first 'Play to Learn' session, a group of children benefitted from a trip to Longleat, we competed at the local tennis tournament and came 1st, 2nd and 4th, and a group of Year 3 children performed at the Jackdaws 'Picnic and Perform' event.
I am delighted to also share with you that we have appointed Miss Larcombe to teach Ash class next year. She is known to many of the children already as she has been a regular supply teacher for us over the years.
Also, we celebrated the children's hard work and achievements this week. Well done to Jay, Thomas, Paul, Daisy, Hugo, George W, Gideon, Josie, Keiran and Lottie!
And here are our very successful tennis players:

I hope you have all had a lovely half term break. We have a very busy final half term ahead of us, starting with quite a busy first week back!
On Tuesday, a group of four Year 3 children are attending the Poetry Slam at Dillington House with Ms Bolton and Year 1 children have a sports afternoon.
On Wednesday our class photographs will be taken and our Year 2 children are attending a Tri-Golf Festival.
On Thursday some of our Year 4 children will be attending a football tournament.
Every week, up until the summer holidays, we have some exciting opportunities for the children. I look forward to seeing you all at some of these events.
