JunePosted by Year 4 Fri, June 16, 2017 11:19:09
Yesterday, 12 Year 4 children went to the Frome Tennis Club to take part in a tennis competition with 7 other schools. After a number of games and some great rallies, it got to the final match which St John's won. In fact, St John's teams finished 1st, 2nd and 4th! What a fantastic result!

Children's Festival

JunePosted by Year 4 Fri, June 16, 2017 08:23:37
Yesterday, Year 4 welcomed a visitor to school who talked about the different communities within Frome. The children then decorated pieces of fabric with words and images that represented them. These will be made into bunting and used to decorate the Children's Festival on July 9th at the Cheese and Grain and Welshmill park.

General Election 2017

JunePosted by Year 4 Thu, June 08, 2017 13:03:19
We used our Collective Worship today to talk about the General Election. We heard what happens before, during and after the event. We also linked it to this terms value, courage, and that we need to have courage to stand up for what we believe is right.

At the end of the Collective Worship, the children were asked who they would vote for if they could.

Food Webs

JunePosted by Year 4 Mon, June 05, 2017 15:55:55
Today we learnt about food chains and food webs. We learnt that the arrow shows the transfer of energy and not what living thing eats another. 🐛➡️🦆 The caterpillar is eaten by the duck.
In groups we had to put a food web together, before moving on to check another groups work. It was good fun.
